Cobot Coding Challenge
Build a robot, code its moves and compete for the top tech prize.

About
In Cobot Coding Challenge, teams become research scientists racing to set a new standard for cobots, collaborative robots designed to work safely next to people.
With a top technology prize at stake, teams start by building their robots, following easy step-by-step 3D instructions in the team kit app. The kits are designed so every member can help.
Next, they connect their robot via Bluetooth and choose from a range of robot actions, picking a goal they can realistically achieve in the time limit. Choosing an achievable goal is a valuable lesson in itself.
Using a simple block-based coding menu, teams then bring their creation to life, with no coding experience needed. The grand finale is a high-energy competitive challenge and a show everyone will enjoy.
Learning outcomes
Building the robot is an engaging, rewarding process, and teams enjoy working together in a creative, hands-on way. Even complete beginners are writing code within minutes.
Deciding what the robot will do calls for collaborative decision-making and clear communication. Teams that agree on one clear goal early tend to make the most impressive robots.
Managing several tasks at once, such as building a precise test track and programming specific moves, needs smart delegation and resource management. Individual strengths shine as team dynamics are tested.
Teams learn that focus and attention to detail matter on every task, while keeping sight of the bigger goal and avoiding silo thinking. Seeing a robot they built and coded perform in the finale gives everyone real pride.
