Mini Marvel Contraptions
Small machines, clever links and one amazing tabletop cascade.

About
Mini Marvel Contraptions brings hands-on engineering to the tabletop. Each team receives a game board and a deck of detailed idea cards to explore and discuss.
Teams then share ideas with the rest of the room and agree on a strategy for one overall contraption that will run from table to table.
Each team designs, builds and tests a series of simple machines, links them and tests again. Next, teams connect their machines to the next team’s and work together until the action flows smoothly across the whole room. Every handover between tables takes patience and a steady hand.
When the full contraption is ready, it is time for the grand finale. One trigger starts the cascade, and it races through every simple machine to a satisfying final action.
Learning outcomes
Sharing knowledge and resources across teams is essential to success and pushes everyone's creativity further. Teams build a common vision and a shared strategy, then deliver it with good project and resource management.
The best teams take time to understand the task and the idea cards, check their resources and sketch a rough plan, then keep reviewing and adjusting as they build. Teams soon realize their machines are only as good as the connections on either side.
Testing builds persistence. Small adjustments often make the difference between a stalled run and a perfect one, and attention to detail becomes everyone's job.
When the final run works, the whole room shares the moment. Teams leave with a real sense of common purpose and a memorable experience they built together.
