Mini Golf Makers
Build a course from donated food, play the tournament, then give it all away.

About
Golf is a popular way to network in business, and Mini Golf Makers turns it into a playful, hands-on activity that anyone can enjoy while giving back to the community.
Teams design and build a challenging mini golf course, mostly from canned and dry food. The rule is that every hole must be fun, challenging and different from all the others.
Each team also designs and builds its own putter, which it uses in the final tournament as players work through the course hole by hole and keep score. Stacked cans become ramps, boxes turn into tunnels and packets become walls.
After the event, all the food is donated to a local charity of your choice. Participants can bring food for the donation, or items can be supplied to fit your giving budget.
Learning outcomes
Mini Golf Makers is a high-energy activity that involves everyone, from answering challenge questions and designing holes to building the course and taking a swing. Every team member finds a way to contribute.
It sparks creativity and ingenuity as teams find clever ways to turn everyday groceries into tricky but fair obstacles.
Communication and project management come into play as teams plan the course, divide the building work and make sure every hole is ready for the tournament. Teams that agree on a theme early usually build the most impressive courses.
Most importantly, people have fun and feel good about giving back. Knowing every can and packet will help someone in need adds real meaning to the day, and teams leave proud of what they did together.
