Cardboard Boat Regatta
Design it, build it and find out if it really floats.

About
Cardboard Boat Regatta comes down to one exciting question: will it float? Teams choose a boat design, collect a set of unusual building materials and combine everyone’s skills to build a vessel that can really take to the water.
Planning makes the difference. Teams agree on the design, split up the building tasks and use every material wisely, knowing the big test is not far away.
Then it is launch time. Boats head into a lake, a pool or the sea, and the finale can be a race, a full regatta, a playful sea battle or a hunt for sunken treasure.
It is loud, a little wet and very memorable, and it shows that a task that seems impossible becomes possible when people work together. It is a great choice for summer retreats and resort events.
Learning outcomes
Teams learn that something that looks impossible becomes achievable when people combine their skills and focus on one goal. It is a strong reminder that big goals are reachable together.
They also find that leadership and great ideas often come from unexpected people. With unusual materials, the best solution can come from anyone, and teams that welcome every suggestion often build the smartest boats.
Building against the clock sharpens time management and communication. Decisions about design and materials must be made fast, and clear roles keep builders out of each other's way. Quick check-ins catch problems before the boat reaches the water.
The launch is the moment of truth. Whether a boat glides, wobbles or sinks, the shared experience brings people closer and makes them proud of what they built.
