About

What would you do with an urgent turnaround, or a wave of resignations in your team? Command Crossroads lets participants find out in a safe and engaging way, through a game about leading people.

At the start, each participant receives a game character with its own personality, a companion for the whole journey. In every challenge, the goal is to choose the best action and earn points.

There are twelve challenges, covering situations such as urgent turnarounds, staff turnover, communication breakdowns and organizational change. For each one, players picture the situation, read between the lines, weigh the pros and cons and decide what to do.

The challenges arrive one after another. Important issues need fast but careful handling, people look to the leader for direction and the clock keeps running. It suits leadership retreats and management development days.

Learning outcomes

By working through realistic situations, participants become more aware of their leadership style and how it affects team climate and results.

They see why different approaches are needed to inspire, engage and motivate different people, and practice choosing the right approach for each situation. Hearing how peers would handle the same problem opens up new options and challenges assumptions.

The game also helps people identify the areas they most want to develop. It suits anyone who leads people now or hopes to in the future.

Through discussion and the interactive format, participants get a clearer view of their current level and many chances to practice communication, collaboration, active listening, persuasion and consultation. Many leave with a short action list for their own teams.
