About

Few cities grow as fast as Seoul, and Model Metropolis lets your teams try their hand at city planning. Each team takes charge of one district of a large model city, with zones such as industrial, residential, leisure and business.

Roads, rail lines and waterways must flow smoothly from one district to the next, so no team can work alone. Teams agree on design standards at the start and keep checking with their neighbors to make sure everything lines up.

Using a wide range of materials, teams create a city that is imaginative, practical and good-looking, with every street and station planned to fit.

When time is up, the districts are joined into one metropolis, and the group celebrates what it has built together.

Learning outcomes

Teams develop a shared vision and strategy, then bring it to life through creativity and strong project management.

Planning across teams is essential. A road that ends at the edge of one district must meet a road in the next, so communication and collaboration become very real. Neighbors who talk early end up with the smoothest connections.

Creativity works best within a clear framework, keeping the city functional, practical and attractive. Careful management of time and resources keeps the project on schedule.

Model Metropolis relies on engagement from everyone, good team dynamics and cooperation across the whole group. It is a vivid reminder that the best results come when every department builds with the bigger plan in mind. It suits planning, facilities and project teams especially well.
